TRULY COMMITTED

We at SIMS are inspired by the words of Archbishop Desmond Tutu - “We must continue to do those ‘little’ acts of goodness to other people as those ‘little’ acts of goodness put together overwhelm the human spirit”.
In this spirit, it gives us great pleasure to contribute to communities near where we work.

Over the years we have developed close relationships with four organisations:

About Us - SIMS

Lodirile High School

Lodirile High School is situated outside of Krugersdorp, where it provides educational facilities to children from impoverished homes in the adjacent informal settlement. Some of these children, as young as twelve, have become the head of their household. Many of these children rely on the school for a daily meal.

Over the last five years, SIMS has assisted with funding and providing much-needed food and toiletries. In the last two years, staff visited on Mandela day to personally deliver groceries and vegetables to the school and to help the teachers provide food for the children.

Vastfontein Community Centre

Vastfontein Community Centre in Pretoria accommodates children from disadvantaged communities, taking them from grade RR to Grade 7 and now has over 200 scholars.

As some of these children are homeless or have no parents, they are staying at the facility.

To help the teachers in their selfless work, SIMS has adopted this facility and has supported the school with funding and provisions for more than five years.

AME Church

AME Church in the Mount Salem District of Pietermaritzburg has been helping a local community over the years.

The money SIMS donated has been used to buy school uniforms and stationery for the children.

Meerhof School

Meerhof School in Hartebeespoort is also assisted by SIMS. The school accommodates 190 learners between the ages of 5 and 19 years with special educational needs, with the main emphasis on learners who are physically
challenged.

The disabilities found amongst the learners include severe juvenile diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, haemophilia, paraplegia, quadriplegia, spina bifida and cerebral palsy.
